Google offers EU concessions

GOOGLE has offered a list of concessions to EU regulators in a bid to avoid a massive fine, the competition commissioner’s office said yesterday. The EU claims the firm has abused its dominance of search to push other services, such as maps and price comparison, and has threatened penalties.

Yesterday, Google also bolstered its maps service in the UK, adding new editing tools that will allow users to enrich the maps with more detailed information.
