TIGER Woods is starting to look like he is back to his best with three wins already this season and he is the hot favourite to win this year’s Masters. However, he hasn’t won a Major for almost five years and is just too short for me at 4/1.
Rory McIlroy has struggled since changing his clubs to Nike and I’m happy to oppose the Northern Irishman at 10/1. Phil Mickelson, available at the same price, is always respected at this venue, although at 42 he might have to give way to someone with younger legs this time.
My first selection is MATT KUCHAR at 33/1 with Bet Victor. The 34-year-old from Florida produced his best ever Masters performance 12 months ago to finish third and won the Accenture Match Play in February. He is a very solid golfer and I expect him to be bang there on Sunday afternoon.
HUNTER MAHAN has a decent record at Augusta with three top 12 finishes in the past four years. He’s yet to win a major but has all the attributes required and is excellent each-way value at 50/1 with Bet Victor.
Finally, don’t rule out Australia’s number one hope, ADAM SCOTT. He is hugely consistent and has bounced back from his capitulation at the Open last summer. I would be surprised if he isn’t in the shake-up and is a fair bet at a general 28/1.
Bet Victor are refunding bets if Woods or McIlroy wins the tournament and you can’t really ask for any fairer insurance than that. As the betting suggests, Woods is the most likely winner and it would be no surprise to see the world No1 slipping into his fifth green jacket on Sunday evening.
Matt Kuchar (e/w) 33/1
Hunter Mahan (e/w) 50/1
Adam Scott (e/w) 28/1
