Go-Ahead bus unit on the up

TRANSPORT group Go-Ahead yesterday said it was on track for the year, with higher than expected profits to come from its bus business.

Bus revenues are set to rise eight per cent, including acquisitions, the firm said.

Chief executive David Brown said both the rail and bus units had posted rising passenger numbers in recent weeks following a slowdown during the cold start to the year.

Go-Ahead said yearly revenues at its Southern, Southeastern and London Midland train franchises will be up 5, 8 and 12 per cent respectively.
