Gay marriage bill approved

DAVID Cameron finally saw the House of Commons pass laws allowing gay marriage in the UK last night, even though almost half of Tory MPs blocked the proposals.

However, just after the vote was passed, the Conservative party dropped to its lowest rating in the polls since 2000. A YouGov poll for The Sun put the Tories on 27 per cent with Labour on 38, Ukip on 16 and the Liberal Democrats on 10.

The same sex marriage Bill was passed by 366 to 161 in a free vote with 133 Tory MPs opposed.
