Gatwick lowers sights on fees

Gatwick Airport will today pledge to hike airline fees by less than expected over the next seven years, but has not stuck to limits that the Civil Aviation Authority set out in April. The London airport said its revised business plan was a “compelling offer” to the CAA, offering airlines fee increases 1.5 per cent above inflation, compared to an earlier offer of four per cent but short of the regulator’s one per cent plan. Airlines have complained of soaring fees.
