Gamers take aim as Keywords Studios hopes for £10m flotation

KEYWORDS Studios, which provides niche video game services for Microsoft, EA and Disney has announced that it intends to float on the Alternative Investment Market (Aim).

Keywords was launched in 1998 and has offices in Dublin, Tokyo, Rome and North America. The firm is hoping to raise £10m to expand into new markets, after reporting revenues of €14.34 (£12.2m) in 2012. and a strong profit before tax of €2.74 in the same financial year.

AIM is an arm of the London Stock Exchange, which allows smaller companies to float.

The company tests video games, provides assistance in translation and cultural adaptation, helping to market popular games across the world. It employs only 120 full time staff.

The company has worked on many well known games, including the Guitar Hero and Halo series.
