Galliford Try on track despite cold

House building and construction firm Galliford Try said yesterday that it had seen “encouraging levels of activity” since the start of the year despite the impact of the prolonged cold weather. It said it expected its full year results to be in line with market expectations. House building reservations for 1 January to 7 May were up six per cent per outlet, while its construction division had a stable order book of £1.6bn, with its cash balance remaining “satisfactory.”
