HOMEBUILDER Persimmon and building supply group Travis Perkins are expected to join the join the FTSE 100 when the index holds its quarterly review on Wednesday. Their shares have surged as investor confidence returned to the construction sector.
Meanwhile, Russian commodities giants Evraz and Polymetal are almost certain to be kicked out of the index after their share prices collapsed in recent months.
New additions to the FTSE 250 are expected to include insurer esure and building group Countrywide, both of which enjoyed successful IPOs earlier this year. Irish energy group DCC is also on track to join the junior index after transferring its listing from Dublin to London.
