Friendly competition on the pitch as Quins coach City boys

ENGLAND may be gearing up for a grand slam-clinching match against Wales this weekend, but yesterday all eyes were on the Square Mile as the Norton Rose City Scrum Cup returned for its sixth installment.

The sun was out as teams from the likes of Barclays, Credit Suisse, JP Morgan and Standard Chartered flocked to the Honourable Artillery Company grounds to compete for the coveted City Scrum Vase.

However, while it was strictly friendly between our Square Mile sides, The Capitalist hears that there was some competition among the Quins over who got to coach which firm. Presumably all were gunning for Citigroup, who took home the Vase for the third year running. But rugby wasn’t the only sporting event in the City yesterday. There was a lively game near the Fleet Street offices of Goldman Sachs – of Comic Relief- inspired human table football.
