FOUR firms will fight to run the Docklands Light Railway from next year, with incumbent operator Serco among the contenders shortlisted by Transport for London (TfL).
FTSE-listed Stagecoach is also in the running, as is a joint venture between Go Ahead and Colas.
A joint bid from Amey Rail and Keolis, the operator of Southeastern and London Midland services, has also been shortlisted to run the DLR from September 2014.
TfL has invited the four groups to submit bids, with a decision expected in mid-2014.
Serco has overseen the railway between the City and east London since 1997.
