FLYBE shares were lifted 13.2 per cent to 58.88p yesterday by the airline’s confirmation of talks to sell its take-off and landing slots at Gatwick.

Flybe, which runs more than a dozen routes out of Gatwick, said yesterday it is in discussions “with a number of parties” about a possible sale.

Earlier this year Flybe set out a cost-cutting plan aimed at bringing the group back into profit.

EasyJet has already been linked to the Gatwick slots, but declined to comment.
