Exxon’s US pipeline remains shut

American oil giant Exxon Mobil was yesterday continuing its efforts to clean up thousands of barrels of heavy Canadian crude oil that have spilled from a near 65-year-old pipeline in the US state of Arkansas. The Pegasus pipeline, which ruptured in a housing development near the town of Mayflower on Friday, remained shut as the clean-up continued. The line can carry more than 90,000 barrels of crude per day from Illinois to Texas.
