LAW firm Eversheds yesterday named Irish managing partner Alan Murphy as the next chairman of its global network, replacing David Gray who retired at the end of last month.

Murphy will remain in his role and continue client work on top of the chairmanship, which he was awarded after a unanimous vote at a meeting held in Stockholm.

“As chairman of EIL (Eversheds International Limited), Alan will play a key role in ensuring consistent and seamless international client service and will continue to roll out our international project management tools,” said chief executive Bryan Hughes.

“I am honoured to have been appointed as chairman ... and look forward to building on David’s legacy, ensuring cohesion across all our offices,” said Murphy.
