EasyJet soars over Easter

EasyJet flew 2.5 per cent more customers in April compared to a year ago as the budget carrier heads towards 60m passengers a year. The firm sold 5.25m tickets for travel last month, with a load factor down 2.6 percentage points at 86.7 per cent, which the firm blamed on the timing of Easter and strikes at France’s air traffic control centre. Meanwhile smaller Irish rival Aer Lingus said its traffic fell 2.5 per cent in the month to 868,000.
