DOMINO’S Pizza Group today announced that like-for-like sales in its UK division had risen by 6.4 per cent for the first half of the year, with the majority of business coming from online and mobile platforms.
The pizza delivery company said that e-commerce now accounts for 63.3 per cent of UK sales for the first half, up from 52.4 per cent year-on-year.
This figure is expected to rise further as the firm develops its online offering.
Domino’s also saw growth in its international business, with plans to open more franchises in the German market.
“I am very pleased with the overall results for the first half - particularly with regards to the UK and Ireland like-for-like sales,” said chief executive Lance Batchelor.
“Our system leads the leisure sector and, with the majority of our business coming via web and mobile platforms, we are now truly an online retailer.”
