Discovery boosts Premier Oil

Shares in FTSE 250 energy explorer Premier Oil rose 6.4 per cent yesterday after the firm said its Luno II prospect in the Norwegian North Sea has struck a “potentially significant oil discovery”. The company said its partner Lundin Petroleum will now test the site to measure the size of the oil find, which is operated by Lundin. Premier Oil and Norwegian state company Statoil each hold a 30 per cent in the site’s licence.
