Deutsche and chums host final of Debate Mate championship

DEUTSCHE Bank’s City offices played host to a gaggle of vocal schoolchildren on Wednesday, who were battling it out to be crowned winner of this year’s Debate Mate Cup.

The national debating competition, founded by barrister Margaret McCabe, is a culmination of a weekly mentorship scheme, whereby volunteers from the likes of Deutsche Bank coach school kids to help them prepare for the final rounds of the debating competition.

Joining the banking judging panel was former barrister Nancy Dell’Olio and television presenter Emily Maitlis, who were both on hand to help Deutsche’s Jeremy Quin present the winning trophy on Wednesday evening to boys from Central Foundation school.
