DARTY, Europe’s third-largest electrical goods retailer, posted an expected slump in full year profit yesterday, hit by weak economic conditions in the Eurozone and a structural shift to online sales.

The firm, which trails Metro’s Media-Saturn and Dixons Retail by annual sales, said it made an underlying pre-tax profit of €26.4m (£22.6m) in the year to 30 April – 66 per cent down on last year. Group revenue fell 2.5 per cent to €3.8bn.
