CRH spends €470m on acquisitions

Irish building materials group CRH said yesterday it had spent €470m (£403m) on development costs in the first six months of the year, almost doubling the €250m it shelled out in the first half of 2012. CRH said it had made 17 acquisitions and investments between January and June, spending €178m across 12 transactions in the Americas, and €58m on five deals in Europe. It also said proceeds from divestments and disposals totalled €185m.
