CREDIT Suisse banker David Tait has exchanged London for Mount Everest in the past few months, in a bid to reach the peak of the mountain for the fifth time.
The head of foreign exchange trading set off on his latest expedition at the end of March and reached the summit at the weekend in another fundraising effort for children’s charity the NSPCC.
Tait, who completed eight months rigorous training for the icy expedition told The Capitalist that his Credit Suisse colleagues had a “grudging admiration” for his trekking hobby.
Perhaps this is in part due to the fact that “when I come back I’m a much nicer person than when I leave,” Tait explains.
So will he be making it six times lucky?
“I can’t say I won’t – I’ve said it so many times now it is almost embarrassing.”
