Countrywide picks Jefferies

Jefferies Hoare Govett has won the corporate broking mandate at Countrywide, the estate agent it helped to float on the London stock market. Countrywide, which was taken public in March, said in a statement that Jefferies had become its broker with immediate effect. The firm is set to join the FTSE 250 in this week’s index reshuffle. Jefferies lost a string of broking clients after its purchase of Hoare Govett last year, but has recently picked up new work including last month’s appointment by Thomas Cook.
