SUPERGROUP has seen sales jump in the second quarter of the year as colder weather boosted sales of coats and hoodies from its Superdry label.
Chief executive Julian Dunkerton said: “When it dropped three or four degrees in one day...you are selling more of your heavy knits and jackets and you get more of a sense of whether your brand is successful. And that’s how we feel, that we have a successful range.”
Retail sales increased by 32.2 per cent to £52.2m in the quarter, boosted by the clearance sales following the re-branding of the Cult stores to Superdry.
Like-for-like sales jumped 5.8 per cent against weaker comparatives last year when it reported a slump in sales after stock ordering problems.
