City Views | Is Jeremy hunt right to suggest banning fizzy drinks in schools?

PAUL WEST

I don’t think they should be banned – people need to be taught how to do things responsibly. Maybe restrict it, limit the amount that’s available. A ban would be wrong – and they would become more desirable.

No, it is for the parents to decide whether they should need it. There are plenty of non-fizzy drinks that have the same properties they are trying to ban – a regular drink contains masses of sugar.

Yes, it’s a good idea. Fizzy drinks have too much sugar and it makes [kids] hyper—they can’t learn. I think they don’t drink enough water these days.
