They certainly have not recovered. I think people are becoming more realistic and are acclimatising to a much more difficult market environment. We’re seeing some resurgence but there are also fewer deals coming from key emerging markets.

It appears to be having some energy but it still has a long way to go to compete with New York. Let’s hope initiatives like this will infuse investors with a desire to place their IPOs in London.

The London Stock Exchange has to be more welcoming and flexible with companies from smaller markets. In a global market, if you want to deal with investors you have to be in the right place – this is a good chance for London to be the market for European IPOs.
