BNY Mellon
Curtis Arledge, formerly chief investment officer for BlackRock’s fundamental fixed income portfolio, is to join BNY Mellon as vice chairman of the corporation and chief executive of BNY Mellon Asset Management.
Arledge also previously worked as co-head of US fixed income at BlackRock, and has over two decades of asset management and investment banking experience. He is due to take up his new role in the fourth quarter of this year.
Barclays Wealth
The wealth management firm has expanded its alternative investment origination and distribution teams with four new appointments.
Boudewijn Jansen joins as head of private equity origination from HSBC Alternative Investments. Sarah Newman moves over from Credit Suisse to become head of hedge fund origination. Jamie Murray joins as a director to lead the EMEA alternative investment distribution, having previously worked at PR firm Broadgate Mainland as associate director responsible for hedge fund public relations. Emily Smart also joins the distribution team from UBS Wealth Management as a hedge fund specialist.
Deutsche Bank
The German bank has poached Andrew Thompson, one of Citi’s top corporate brokers, as a managing director in its own UK corporate broking team.
Thompson has over twenty years of experience in corporate broking, having previously worked at ABN Amro Hoare Govett. In his new role, he will cover UK and Irish clients with a particular focus on the financial institutions sector.
Union Bancaire Privée
Rob Jones is joining the Swiss private bank as head of the new European equities team, based in London.
Jones formerly managed pan-European equity funds at Threadneedle and starts his new role in November.
