CITY MOVES WHO'S SWITCHING JOBS

<strong>Syndicate Asset Management</strong><br />The fund management group has hired Mark Cheshire, 51, as chief executive of its newly-formed Ashcourt Rowan wealth management businesses, which are due to formally launch in January.<br /><br />Cheshire was previously director of UK private wealth management at Lloyds TSB and, prior to that, chief executive and managing director at Lloyds TSB Private Banking. He originally joined the group in 1980.<br /><br /><strong>TLG Capital </strong><br />The ethical investment firm has appointed Jamel Larbi and Shaheryar Mian to its team.<br /><br />Larbi was previously part of the emerging capital markets team at Merrill Lynch in London, working on transactions primarily in the MENA region, sub-Saharan Africa and Eastern Europe.<br /><br />Mian joins from Hewitt Associates, where he worked in the global investment practice, and also previously spent time at Lloyds TSB in London and New York.<br /><br /><strong>Risk Capital Partners</strong><br />The private equity group, founded by entrepreneur Luke Johnson, has appointed Michael Simmonds as a senior investment partner responsible for sourcing and managing investment opportunities for the company&rsquo;s new RCP II fund.<br /><br />Simmonds joins from Bowmark Capital Partners, where he has been a partner for the past four years. <br /><br />He was also previously a corporate finance adviser at accountancy firm PricewaterhouseCoopers and worked at Lloyds Development Capital.<br /><br /><strong>Akin Gump</strong><br />Greg Hammond has joined the law firm in London as a partner in the energy and international corporate transactions practices.<br /><br />Hammond joins the firm from rival White &amp; Case, where he has been a partner for the past 10 years. His practice encompasses M&amp;A transactions, private equity, capital markets and joint ventures across the corporate sector.<br /><br /><strong>Coutts</strong><br />The private bank has promoted Paul Johnson to managing partner for the firm in the Thames Valley and East Anglia region.<br /><br />Johnson, a keen sportsman and marathon runner, was previously head of sales and service development at Coutts&rsquo; head office on the Strand. He originally joined the bank in July 2000, having begun his financial career with NatWest in 1998.<br /><br /><strong>Noble</strong><br />The independent investment bank has hired Harry Stockdale as an associate director and Chris Connors as a manager in the corporate finance division.<br />Stockdale joins from Ambrian Partners, where he worked on corporate finance deals in the Aim market.<br /><br />Connors was previously a manager in the corporate finance team at Arbuthnot Securities and, prior to that, a senior executive at Grant Thornton Corporate Finance in Sydney.
