<div><strong>Palamon Capital Partners</strong><br />The mid-market private equity firm has appointed Dr Richard Wolman to its now 13-strong board of advisers.<br /><br />Wolman is a consultant in human resource development with a particular focus on investment firms, trading houses and management consultancies. Since 2008, he has been working with Palamon on internal development strategies and assisting its investment team in the evaluation of portfolio company management.<br /><strong><br />Ambrian Partners</strong><br />The stockbroking group has strengthened its Extel top-rated mining team with the appointment of Peter Davey.<br /><br />A mining engineer by background, Davey previously spent ten years in South Africa working on gold and platinum mining projects with Gencor and Impala. He has over 20 years of equity research experience with Lehman Brothers, SG Securities, HSBC and, most recently, as managing director of Barnard Jacobs Mellet in London.<br /><br /><strong>Cairn Capital</strong><br />The credit specialist asset manager has appointed Folkert Jan van der Veer as a senior credit analyst, focusing on financial institutions.<br /><br />Van der Veer joins from Dresdner Kleinwort, where he was responsible for credit research coverage of European financial institutions. He also previously held a number of analytical roles at ABN Amro Asset Management and Kempen and Co.<br /><br /><strong>Olswang</strong><br />The law firm has appointed Hartley Foster as a partner in its market-leading tax team. Foster has particular expertise in indirect taxes, corporation tax, international tax law and anti-avoidance issues.<br /><br /><strong>RBC Capital Markets</strong><br />The corporate and investment banking arm of Royal Bank of Canada has hired Chris Tam as a director in its fixed income and currencies sales team in Hong Kong.<br /><br />Tam joins from Merrill Lynch in Hong Kong, where he was co-head of North Asia wholesale marketing.<br /><br /><strong>UBP Asset Management</strong><br />The fund-of-funds management company of Union Bancaire Priv&eacute;e Group has appointed Jonathan Morgan as head of alternative investment research.<br /><br />Morgan was previously a managing director and head of the hedge fund management group for Barclays Global Investors.</div>
