Royal Bank of Scotland
John Shelley has joined RBS as chief risk officer, Asia Pacific, for all RBS businesses in the region. Shelley began his banking career with NatWest and RBS in the UK, and he has previously worked for Coutts Private Banking in Asia and has since held a number of senior roles with the bank in the region. He was most recently administrative officer for markets and international banking, Asia Pacific. In the new role, Shelley will be responsible for overseeing RBS’s risk management function in the region.

Morrison and Foerster
The law firm has announced that David Bresnick will join its London office as a partner in the corporate practice, where he will represent technology and telecom companies in mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, private equity investments and related matters. He was previously at CMS Cameron McKenna’s London office.

Jones Lang LaSalle
The financial and professional services firm, which specialises in property has appointed Dr Lee Elliott as the new head of EMEA research, a position that will be combined with his existing role as head of EMEA occupier research. Elliott has 11 years’ experience with Jones Lang LaSalle.

Ogier
The law firm has announced the appointment of three new partners from February 2013. New partners Katrina Edge and Victoria Yates will be based in the Jersey office, and Paul Lawrence will lead the establishment of Ogier’s fiduciary office in Luxembourg.

White and Case
The law firm has announced the election of 28 partners globally, effective 1 January 2013, 19 of which will join the firm’s EMEA offices.
