The insurance group has hired Janet Connor as its new managing director. Connor most recently worked at over-50s insurance provider RIAS, where she has served as managing director since 2006. Connor has also worked at Legal & General, J Sainsbury and Abbey National, where she was a director in charge of the Abbey Wrap Platform. She will be responsible for the day to day running and and overall strategy starting in January 2012.
The online dating site has hired Jeremy Verba as chief executive and board member. The Harvard MBA graduate joins the firm from games developer Zynga, and has previously worked at AOL, E! Online and CNET.
The oil and gas exploration firm has appointed Jonathan Copus as chief financial officer and board member, effective from the fourth quarter of 2011. Copus was most recently a director of Deutsche Bank’s oil and gas equity research team.
The real estate fund manager has appointed Mitch Layng as portfolio energy manager in the sustainability and environment team. Previously, Layng was a managing engineer at Prupim, managing engineering projects and advising on property management.
The emerging markets investment bank has appointed Ateev Chadda as head of coverage, investment banking and financing. Chadda, who will focus on international capital raisings and listings for Indian companies, joins from Religare Capital Markets.
The business advisory firm has appointed Richard Slater and Dave Lyons to its pensions and investment team. Slater joins from PwC as a partner in the Edinburgh office and Lyons joins from JLT Investment Consulting as a director in the Manchester office.
The law firm has appointed James Tinworth, formerly of Simmons & Simmons, as a corporate partner to the funds practice in London.
The HR group has appointed Mark Moorton as UK head of human resources, joining from Specsavers, where he was international HR director from 2009. Prior to that, Moorton worked at AXA PPP Healthcare.
