India Gary-Martin has joined the investment bank as global head of location strategy and performance metrics.
Gary-Martin was previously at the Royal Bank of Scotland, where she led the implementation of the government’s asset protection scheme for the bank’s global banking and markets division. She is also president of the City Women’s Network and a recognised champion of diversity in the City.
The financial services group has hired Alasdair Ogilvy-Stuart to its wealth management division to join the intermediary sales team.
In his new role, Ogilvy-Stuart will particularly focus on independent financial advisers, having previously been responsible for introducing retirement income products to the IFA market at Sun Life of Canada. He has also worked for Zurich and AMP NPI.
The agency broker has hired Paul Cooper, ex-head of HSBC’s emerging markets equity businesses in the EMEA region, as a non-executive director. Cooper started his career at accountancy firm Price Waterhouse. Since then he has worked as a managing director at UBS in the European equities business, leaving in 2004 to join HSBC.
He left last year to become a principal in a small hedge fund and devote more time to various real estate and private equity interests.
Mizuho Corporate Bank
The Japanese bank has appointed Jason Meyer as a director in the financial solutions group.
Meyer joins from NM Rothschild in London, where he was a director in the investment banking division.
Prior to that, he held the position of vice president in the global asset securitisation team at Deutsche Bank.
The corporate investigations company has appointed Jody Freshwater as director of strategic intelligence.
Freshwater previously worked at the Serious Organised Crime Agency, where he was involved in investigations into organised crime, including frauds, drug trafficking and people smuggling.
