PwC

The professional services firm has promoted Jim Bichard to leader of London market insurance. Bichard has 16 years’ experience at PwC, and will be responsible for all of the firm’s audit, tax and advisory lines to brokers and the Lloyd’s London market.

Investec

The investment bank has appointed Jeremy Wrathall as head of global natural resources. Wrathall has 25 years’ experience in both investment banking, and within the industry – most recently as managing director at Salamanca Capital.

Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher

Ali Nikpay is to join the law firm as a partner in its worldwide antitrust and competition practice. Nikpay comes from the Office of Fair Trading, where he was senior director for nine years.

Pramerica Fixed Income

The fixed income fund manager has named Conor Dempsey managing director of institutional client relations. Dempsey was previously managing director at Pinebridge Investments, as well as a former vice president of institutional sales at AIG.

Baring Asset Management

The investment management firm has appointed Lars Albert as head of sales for Germany and Austria. Albert was previously head of sales at Henderson Global Investors in Frankfurt, and has also held senior sales roles at SEB Asset Management and Fundmatrix.

Ogier

The law firm has promoted Bryon Rees to the role of managing associate. Rees joined Ogier in 2005, and has advised on high profile transactions, including the launch of the Guernsey investment fund.

Sackers

The pensions law firm has appointed Georgina Stewart as head of business development and marketing. Stewart previously ran her own marketing consultancy, and has also held the position of marketing director at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.

Trowers & Hamlins

The law firm has appointed five new partners to its London offices. Among them is Imogen Fisher, a banking and finance specialist, who has experience advising clients in both the private and public sectors.
