Butterfield Private Bank
The bank has announced the appointment of Jo Hill as head of marketing. She has previously held senior roles at GR Communications and Capita Hartshead.

JP Morgan
Karine Thierry-Wilkinson has joined the financial services firm as a senior banker. Based in Paris, she will advise and develop relationships with wealthy families and individuals. She was most recently a private banker at OBC. Prior to that, she held a similar role at BNP Paribas.

Pinsent Masons
The law firm has hired David Doogan as head of banking in its Birmingham office. Doogan joins from SGH Martineau, where he was a partner and head of its banking team.

Insight Investment
Philip Anker has been appointed global head of distribution at the institutional asset management firm. Anker was most recently head of investor relations and business development at Paloma Partners. He previously held senior roles at the Blackstone Group and Citigate Alternative Investments.

Squire Sanders
Matthew Doughty has joined the law firm’s corporate and corporate finance practice as a partner. Doughty specialises in equity capital markets, and was most recently at Dorsey & Whitney.

BAE Systems
The defence, security and aerospace systems giant has announced the appointment of Chris Grigg as a non-executive director on its board. Grigg is currently chief executive of the British Land Company. He has previously held senior roles at Goldman Sachs and Barclays.

Bird & Bird
The law firm has appointed Bernhard Gemmel as a partner in its international banking and finance practice. Gemmel has over 17 years’ experience, and specialises in project and real estate finance. He was most recently a partner at Dentons. Prior to that, he was a partner at Shearman & Sterling, and Beiten Burkhardt.
