Berenberg Bank

The bank has announced the appointment of Stefan Keitel as chief investment officer. Keitel is currently managing director of Credit Suisse, and chief investment officer in its asset management and private banking business. Prior to joining Credit Suisse in 2001, he worked for Prudential Securities in New York and Frankfurt.


Stuart Melrose has been appointed director in the real estate firm’s West End office. He joins from Studley, and has previously held senior roles at Edwards Charles Partners and Grubb and Ellis.


The multi-family office for ultra-high-net-worth individuals has appointed David McLellan as executive director and head of its London family office. He was formerly chief executive of Rothschild Trust Group and member of the Rothschild Bank & Trust executive board. Prior to that, he worked as an international tax adviser at Baker & McKenzie and Ernst & Young.


The infrastructure investment firm has announced the appointment of Stephen Nelson as an asset management director. Nelson was most recently chief executive of BAA, and was previously group marketing director and group trading director at J Sainsbury.

Capital Growth

Grant Leon has joined the firm as the head of sales for its private wealth distribution business. He was most recently at Aberdeen Asset Management, where he was responsible for its global financial institutions business. Prior to that, he was head of Aberdeen’s UK financial institutions group.

Allianz Global Investors

The global investment management company has appointed Arun Ratra as head of global solutions. He brings over 20 years’ experience in asset and liability management, and joins from the Gulf Investment Corporation, Kuwait where he was head of its global market group. He was previously chief investment officer for multi asset class solutions at Credit Suisse.

JLT Employee Benefits

Jonathan Bloomer has joined the consultancy and service provider as non-executive chairman. He has previously held senior positions at Prudential, Egg and Arthur Andersen. He was most recently a European partner and senior member of the global operations team at Cerberus Capital. He is also senior independent director at Hargreaves Lansdown.


The litigation support firm has appointed Lord Gold as chairman. He was formerly senior partner at Herbert Smith, and has previously advised Rolls Royce on its anti-corruption compliance policies.
