The private equity firm has expanded its investment team with two new hires. Matthew Norrington (right) joins as an investment director from LDC, where supported the development of its companies portrolio. Prior to that, he was a strategy and planning consultant at Control Risks Group. Thomas Alldred has been appointed investment executive. He was previously an executive in the transaction services team at Deloitte.

Canada Life Investments
David Marchant has been appointed chief investment officer and managing director at the asset management company. Marchant has over 27 years’ investment experience, and joined the firm as head of securities in 2010.

The asset management company has announced the appointment of Lauren Juliff to its UK institutional client service team. Juliff joins from Schroder Investment Management, where she was head of defined contribution business development. Prior to that, she was a marketing executive at Fidelity.

The financial and transactional law firm has appointed Jack Boldarin managing partner in its London office. Boldarin specialises in finance and corporate transactions. He joined Walkers in 2001.

Samsung Electronics
Rob Orr has joined the technology company as vice president of business to business for its European telecommunications division. Orr was most recently at Blackberry, where he was managing director for the UK and Ireland. Prior to that, he held senior business to business product convergence roles at BT and Vodafone.

The asset finance division of RBS has appointed Jim Higginbotham as a managing director of its large corporate and specialist asset finance division. He joined the firm in 2011 as head of risk.

Jones Day
The law firm has made two new hires to its Shanghai office. Ross Keene joins the mergers and acquisitions practice as counsel. He was most recently chief representative in the Shanghai office at Allens. Dr Yang Xu specialises in patent litigation and prosecution, and also joins as counsel. He was previously chief patent counsel at Simcere Pharmaceutical Group.
