The specialist financial services consultancy firm has hired Stuart Leask to lead its UK insurance practice. Leask has over 20 years’ experience in the life and non-life insurance sectors, and joins from KPMG, where he was a principal adviser in its insurance consulting division.

The banking group has appointed Phil Allen as digital director of its wealth and international division. Formerly digital director at Coutts, Allen has nearly 25 years’ experience working in financial services, digital strategy, online acquisition, and digital and mobile banking.

Daniel Hodson and Alan Gibbins have joined the London derivatives market as non-executive board directors. Hodson is a former chief executive of the London International Financial Futures and Options Exchange. Gibbins has 40 years’ financial experience, and was previously a partner at PwC and non-executive director of Jeffries Bache International.

The business advisory firm has announced the appointment of Mat Hughes as a managing director in its economics-consulting practice. Hughes joins from Ashurst, where he was a partner and the firm’s chief economist.

The asset management company has announced two new appointments. Chris Watt will become manager of both its growth and income fund and its UK Alpha fund. Alastair Gunn will take on the management of the Jupiter high income fund. Watt joined the firm’s fund management team in 1999, working principally on its UK equity desk. Gunn joined Jupiter’s UK equities desk in 2007.

Monica Harrison joins the wealth management firm as a wealth adviser. She was previously at Wesleyan Assurance Society, and has held financial advisory roles at Alliance & Leicester and Abbey National.

The software company has appointed Jad Fares as regional sales manager for the Middle East and north Africa region. He was previously Middle East and Africa manager for electronic trading at Bloomberg.
