Bovill
The regulatory consultancy firm has appointed Edward Black as a principal. He joins from Katten Muchin Resenman, where he was a special counsel and partner. Prior to that, he was a partner at Field Fisher Waterhouse and Denton Wilde Sapte.

Deloitte
The business services firm has announced the appointment of Timothy Mahapatra as managing director of its global financial advisory practice. Mahapatra joined Deloitte in 2002. He previously led its Europe, the Middle East and Asia division, and its UK financial advisory practices.

Berenberg
The European investment and private bank has appointed two new senior equity research analysts to its London autos team. Adam Hull was most recently at West LB/Portigon, where he was an executive director. He has previously held senior roles at UBS and HSBC. Roman Mathyssek joins from IHS Global Insight, where he was a director.
Allen & Overy
Vanessa Turner has joined the law firm’s Brussels office as a partner in its global antitrust practice. Turner was previously at Visa Europe, where she was general counsel and executive vice president. Prior to that, she was a special adviser at the US Federal Trade Commission.

Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty
The insurance company’s corporate and specialty division has appointed Tim Galloway as regional head of liability. He joined the firm in 2010 as a senior liability underwriter.
Hogan Lovells
The law firm has hired Rupert Shiers as a partner in its London tax team, where he will lead its direct tax disputes practice. He was most recently a partner at Herbert Smith Freehills.

Franklin Templeton
Jill Barber has joined the investment management firm as head of institutional for the UK and Ireland. She was previously at Hermes Fund Managers, where she was head of consultant relations. Prior to that, she worked in Fidelity’s Europe, the Middle East and Asia institutional business development team.
