The index provider has appointed Professor Elroy Dimson as chairman of its policy group. Dimson is currently emeritus professor at London Business School, and director and past-president of the European Finance Association.

Lloyds Bank’s commercial banking arm has appointed Farouk Ramzan as managing director and head of capital markets origination. He joined Lloyds in 2007 from Societe Generale.

Jenny Casebourne has joined the professional services firm as associate director in its central London retail team. Casebourne previously worked at CBRE.

The bank has announced the appointment of Mark McFarland as executive director and global chief economist. McFarland has over 15 years’ global markets experience. He previously worked at Emirates NBD, where he was chief investment strategist and head of its wealth management investment strategy unit. Prior to that, he held chief economist roles at Santander and Swiss Re.

Rule Financial
The consultancy firm has hired Catherine Houston as a principal consultant in its domain group. She joins from RBS, where she was vice president and business analyst in its operations technology division. Prior to that, she was a senior business analyst at ABN AMRO.

Cedric Lizin has been appointed head of the bank’s Middle East and north Africa wealth business. He joined Barclays in 2007 as chief operating officer for the Asia-Pacific region.

Duncan Lawrie Private Bank
Trevor Barratt has joined the private bank as head of risk and compliance. He was previously at CAF Bank, where he was chief risk officer. Prior to that, he spent 17 years at Lloyds.

Pinsent Masons
The law firm has announced the appointment of five lawyers from Bircham Dyson Bell to its infrastructure planning and government affairs division in London.
