Lawrence Hutter has been appointed chief executive of the professional services firm’s European corporate solutions business. He joins from Deloitte, where he led its global consumer industries practice.

The investment management company has appointed Mahdi Mokrane head of research and strategy, Europe. He joins from AEW Europe, where he was head of research and strategy and a member of the firm’s European investment and global securities allocation committees.

Matthew Friedrich has joined the law firm as a partner in its litigation practice. He is a former acting head of the criminal division of the US Department of Justice, and was most recently a partner at Boies, Schiller & Flexner.

Allianz Global Corporate & Speciality
The insurance firm has appointed Kevin Northcott as regional head of financial lines. He has over 30 years’ industry experience, and was most recently chief executive of the company in Hong Kong.

The professional services firm has announced the appointment of Phil Smart as UK head of insurance. Smart joined the firm in 1991, and has been a partner for 10 years. His most recent role was as head of Solvency II.

The Ashton Partnership
The executive search firm has announced two new hires. John Axworthy will lead Ashton’s investment banking team as partner. He previously led the investment banking practice at Odgers Berndtson. Victoria Hagger, who will join as a senior associate, was previously at Wheat Executive Search.

Winckworth Sherwood
James Lynas will join the law firm as partner in its education and employment practice. He has held the position of solicitor to the Pathology Delivery Board for the past four years.

Knight Frank
The estate agent and property consultancy has appointed Luke Pender-Cudlip head of its Sherborne office. He has over 20 years’ experience, most recently as head of Knight Frank’s Wandsworth office.
