A NEW movie called Pulp yesterday made history by becoming the first film to premiere on Xbox 360, as opposed to the silver screen. But who was the director behind it?
None other than the City’s very own ex-management consultant Adam Hamdy, who left the Square Mile for the City of Angels – and a career in comic books and film.
“All the roles I had were about making money,” the former Bridgewater consultant told The Capitalist. Let’s hope for the sake of the film’s investors that there is some cash in Xbox movies too.
■ Gavin Darby replaced Michael Clarke as boss of Premier Foods only a few weeks ago, but he has already hit the ground running, or more accurately, cycling. Darby, who is known for being quick off the mark when it comes to getting the job done, will soon be taking himself off to Cape Town to compete in the 36th Cape Argus Tour on Sunday. He signed up for the world’s largest cycle race before he landed the job at the helm of Premier. “I haven’t trained properly,” confided Darby. “The weather has been terrible so I will have done about five weeks of training – and it is the first time I have been on a bike in eight years.” On the plus side, The Capitalist hears that all the spinning classes Darby has been doing are a great excuse for snacking on samples during factory visits. “I can eat anything I want!” declared Darby.
