THERE are two City boys taking part in the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge this December. The race acrosss the Atlantic requires pairs to row 24 hours a day, on a shift of two hours on, two hours off, until the 3,000 mile course is complete – which can take up to 90 days.
Asset management headhunter Will North from Sheffield Haworth is one of the Square Mile boaties taking part, with rowing partner and chartered surveyor Dan Howie.
Also competing in the mad ocean-dash is hedge fund partner Nick Rees, who is rowing with friend Ed Curtis. To boost their morale – and fundraising target – friends from fund managers Henderson, BNY Mellon asset management and Deutsche have organised a “Rock the Boat” battle of the City bands event for the rowers. At least both pairs won’t have to look too far for a rest on solid ground afterwards with Antigua as their final destination.
A Caribbean break sounds like just what the doctor ordered.
