J SAINSBURY was the only one of the big four British supermarkets to win market share in the past 12 weeks as discounters Aldi and Lidl continued to squeeze their larger rivals.

Figures from Kantar Worldpanel released yesterday showed Aldi scored another record share of 3.6 per cent in the 12 weeks to 9 June, while Lidl held onto its three per cent share.

Sainsbury’s increased its share year-on-year from 16.6 per cent to 16.7 per cent.
