Casey ends two-year drought

GOLF: England’s Paul Casey toasted a long-awaited victory after overturning a four-shot deficit to win the Irish Open at Carton House yesterday. The former world No3, who had dropped to No169 before the tournament, finished with a five-under-par 67 to triumph by three strokes from countryman Robert Rock and overnight leader Joost Luiten, and claim a first title for two and a half years. “It’s incredibly sweet,” said Casey. “It’s been a while. Winning an Irish Open is an absolute dream.”
