MOBILE phone retailer Carphone Warehouse today announced that Andrew Harrison has been appointed group chief executive.

He takes over from Roger Taylor, who will become deputy chairman, effective from 24 July.

The firm also unveiled flat profits after tax of £58m and 4.6 per cent revenue growth, with a stronger UK performance offset by weak European markets.

The firm added that it has completed its acquisition of the remaining half of its joint venture with Best Buy for £471m.
