Carphone names new boss as sales rise

MOBILE phone retailer Carphone Warehouse revealed yesterday it had promoted Andrew Harrison to be group chief executive after almost two decades at Sir Charles Dunstone’s firm. Roger Taylor will step down as chief executive at Carphone’s annual general meeting next month and move to the position of deputy chairman.

The boardroom news comes alongside preliminary full year results showing a 4.6 per cent rise in like-for-like revenues on the back of strong sales growth in Britain, and a flat after tax profit of £58m.
