Capita to sell Whitehall skills

THE GOVERNMENT will this morning announce a joint-venture with FTSE 100 outsourcer Capita to market project management systems developed by the civil service.

Capita will take a 51 per cent stake in the company, which will attempt to increases sales of Whitehall-devised professional standards such as PRINCE2 to businesses. This is the first joint-venture firm based on the state’s intellectual property.

Cabinet Office minister Francis Maude said the deal could return an extra £500m over the next decade.
