DAVID Cameron was in an ebullient mood yesterday as he addressed the Two Cities Luncheon, organised by the Cities of the London & Westminster Conservative Association.
The Prime Minister called on guests and supporters of the party to remain united and to not be shy in bragging about the government’s achievements, citing the extremely blue – in the other sense of the word – comedian Chubby Brown, one of whose x-rated gags refers to his prowess in the bedroom.
However, the biggest laugh for Dave came from his re-hashing of a joke about the decision to go tie-less at the recent G8: “Some of you were concerned I wasn’t wearing a tie. It could have been worse – Vladmir Putin wanted us to be bare-chested on horseback.”
He then went on to thank the organiser of the lunch, veteran fund manager Patrick Evershed: “Nobody has been more loyal and more supportive than you,” the Prime Minister told Evershed.
