BRITISH Land Company’s Chris Grigg (pictured) has been appointed as a non-executive director of defence giant BAE Systems with effect from 1 July. Grigg has headed up the UK’s second-largest property company by market value for the past four years.

“We are very pleased that Chris Grigg has agreed to join the BAE Systems board,” said Sir Richard Olver, chairman of BAE Systems. BAE Systems confirmed earlier this month that Sir Roger Carr will succeed Olver as chairman next year, leaving fellow FTSE 100 giant Centrica searching for a new chair after Carr’s departure.
