Our diners began with oysters and seabass roe on mini toasts, before moving on to luxurious foie gras with a half bottle of Chateau d’Yquem 2002.
They then ordered helpings of cote de boeuf all round, with sides of salad, pommes frites and foie gras spinach and a rather fine bottle of Haut Brion Cru Classe de Grave 2001.
At £1,175.80 for the lot, it must have been a very merry way to round off the short working week.
