CHELSEA manager Rafael Benitez has indicated his desire to stay in England if, as expected, he leaves Stamford Bridge in the summer.
Benitez, whose side host Russian club Rubin Kazan in the Europa League quarter-finals tonight, admits he is destined to depart when his temporary contract expires.
“I like to win, to challenge for trophies,” said the former Liverpool boss. “I would like to stay in a top side – why not in England?”
Benitez also dismissed criticism from former Chelsea coach Ray Wilkins over the injury suffered to left-back Ashley Cole in Monday’s FA Cup win over Manchester United as an April Fool’s Day joke. The Spaniard is without Cole and centre-back Gary Cahill for the first leg.
