WORLD Cup winner Lewis Moody has warned Bath of a backlash in Saturday’s LV= Cup semi-final against Harlequins, but still expects his former club to reach the final.
Quins’ record of six wins in seven Aviva Premiership games was interrupted by Exeter Chiefs’ 27-16 triumph at the Stoop on Saturday.
But Moody expects Bath to be too hot to handle.
“I think Bath will win this one by five but it’s going to be such a close game,” said Moody. “Winning that first trophy is so important. Once you do that, it breeds confidence.”
In Sunday’s second semi-final bottom face top as Sale Sharks welcome Saracens to Salford.
And Moody cannot see past victory for the table toppers.
“Sale have been good in the LV, but I can’t see how they will beat a dominant Saracens,” he said.
